A probable lead alloy spindle whorl. It is bi-conical in shape but rounded. It is worn but discernible on both sides is a pattern of lines and dots. It has a grey patina, the central hole is either slightly mis-moulded with an inset line on both sides or alternatively has the remains of a concretion in it. The patination (or lack of) would suggest a later date although the hole diameter might suggest an early medieval date. Dimensions: It is 23mm in diameter, 10mm deep and the central hole is 8mm diameter and it weighs 23.00g

A lead alloy bi-conical spindle whorl. The design on one face consists of two concentric circles, one inside the inner edge and one at the outer edge, and from these run a number of lines parallel to the borders, inside each cell formed by these is a dot. The other side also has two borders at the inner and outer diameter and lines running parallel to these to form trapezoid cells but there are more of these, some of which may have dots or further lines in them. A probable lead alloy spindle whorl. It is plano-convex in shape with a domed side, rounded edges and a flat base with a central perforation which is off centre.  No decoration is present on either side and it can be classified as Walton Rogers form A1 (Walton Rogers, 1997, p.1731/1738). The whorl has an even light brown patina. Possible Medieval cast lead spindle whorl, c.AD 1200-1550. The weight is biconical in form with a central circular perforation. The surface of the object is undecorated and fairly smooth; it is patinated creamy-brown with patches of light grey. A complete lead / lead alloy spindle whorl probably dating to the medieval period (c.AD 1200-1500). The object has a shallow biconical shape with a large central perforation measuring 10.3mm in diameter. Both faces are worn and corroded which has obscurred nearly all of the decorative details; one face appears to present raised pellets. A possible Early Medieval lead spindle whorl dating from AD 850 - 1100. It is unusually large, conical in form, with angled sides and flat surfaces but rounded corners, probably of Walton Rogers form A2. It is slightly damaged and distorted. The whorl is undecorated and has a light tan patina. The central hole is 11mm diameter. Length: 29.13mm Width: 25.04mm Thickness: 19.69mm Weight: 69.37g Form A2 whorls are dated by Walton Rogers to AD 700 - 1100. Those with a central perforation of greater than 9mm are more likely to be late Saxon onwards.
