A lead alloy Medieval to early Post-Medieval probable spindle whorl or weight, dating to c.1200 - 1600. The spindle whorl is of Walton Rogers form A1. It is plano-convex, D shaped in cross-section with some minor wear on the edges and round the central hole. The domed side has no visible decoration . A lead alloy circular, biconical spindle whorl. The whorl has a large central, circular perforation which is straigth sided. There is cast decoration on both of the conves faces. On one is a series of chevrons and pellets within a border of small squares. On the other is decorated with a series of curved lines forming a cinquefoil with two or three pellets on each foil, overlain by a quatrefoil with a single pellet in each foil.
