A lead alloy spindle whorl of Medieval to Post-Medieval date, circa (AD 1100-1600). In plan the spindle whorl is sub-circular and in profile is bi-convex. There is a central sub-circular perforation which is 7.75 mm in diameter. Both faces have been decorated with an irregular design in light relief. the pattern includes a heart form, pellets and possible letters. Some of the original detail has been worn. The surface of the spindle whorl has a brown coloured smooth patina.

A lead alloy spindle whorl of Medieval to Post-Medieval date, circa (AD 1100-1600). In plan the spindle whorl is sub-circular and in profile is bi-convex. There is a central sub-circular perforation which is 9.03mm in diameter. One face has been decorated with a raised cast design consisting of a repeating pattern of radiating ribs with pellets in between, although the original detail is now very worn. The opposing face has a circumferential rib in light relief, again the surfaces have been worn. The surface of the spindle whorl has a cream to grey in coloured patina.

A complete cast lead spindle whorl, probably late medieval to early post medieval in date (c AD 1300-1700). It is bi-conical, with a circular central perforation measuring 9.94mm in diameter. The upper face is domed and is decorated with a series of 10 raised pellets. The lower face is flat and undecorated. The object if very damaged to one side. The object is worn and has a dark grey patina.
Similar examples of spindle whorls have been found in contexts from the Roman through to the Post-Medieval period. However most are typically dated to the Medieval period.
