An early medieval lead alloy cast spindle whorl, dating to c. AD 500 - 1000. The whorl is discoidal in shape and D-shaped in cross section. The central hole is circular with an internal diameter of 6.5 mm, which narrows to 5 mm. Both faces bear evidence of decoration with lines and pellets but are highly abraded, with some chipping along one edge. An early medieval lead alloy cast spindle whorl of cylindrical Walton Rogers form B, dating to c. AD 43 - 900. With a central moulded aperture of 8.2 mm in diameter. Bottom surface is slightly concave, upper surface rounded. Some asymmetry in thickness. The spindle hole size is compatible with a Roman or Anglo-Saxon date. Surfaces are undecorated and have a dusty white patina. Diameter 28 mm, thickness 13 mm and weight 2.09 g.

A complete cast lead alloy spindle whorl. The weight and large aperture (10.98 mm) of the central perforation, suggest an early medieval date, c. AD 900 - 1100. Both surfaces are flat and undecorated, although the object is abraded and dented. The central aperture is set off centre. The sides are rounded. A cast lead alloy spindle whorl probably of early medieval date. It is very flattened, resembling Coppergate form A, One face is more conical, the other plano-convex. Both faces have moulded decoration; the conical face has four arrow heads alternating with raised pellets. The arrow heads alternately point inwards to the centre and outwards to the rim. A complete cast lead-alloy early medieval to medieval spindle whorl (AD c.500-c.1500). The object is circular when laid flat, though at one end the rounded edge has been smoothed down to a flat edge. It is D-shaped in cross-section, with a rough circular central perforation measureing c.10mm in diameter. The object has a greyish-white patina. Overall the object measures 29.39mm in diameter and 8.82mm thick. It weighs 36.40g.
