A possible lead alloy spindle whorl of Medieval to Post Medieval date, circa (AD 1100-1600). In plan the spindle whorl is sub-circular and in profile is plano-convex. The spindle whorl has a circumferential protruding rib at its centre. There is a central hexagonal perforation which is 7.9 mm across the flats. The face is decorated with raised cast moulded pellets. Some of this decoration is lost through abrasion. The reverse is flat and undecocrated. A complete lead or lead alloy flat spindle whorl, of Roman to Post Medieval dating (AD 43 - AD 1650). The spindle whorl is sub-circular in shape, and rectangular in cross section. There is a hole of internal diameter 8.6 mm which is cast off-centre. The surface appears undecorated but this may be due to abrasion in the soil. The whorl has a diameter of 21.7 mm and is 7.6 mm thick. It weighs 17.8 g. The whorl is light grey in colour, and has an even surface patina. A similar spindle whorl is described in record WMID-92ACC6.

A lead alloy spindle whorl of Medieval to Post-medieval date, circa (AD 1100-1600). In plan the spindle whorl is sub-circular and it has one flat surface and the other is convex. There is a sub-circular perforation which is placed slightly off centre and measures 5.9 mm in diameter. Both faces are plain and undecorated. The surface of the spindle whorl is cream in colour . A lead spindle whorl dating to the Post-Medieval period (AD 1500-1600). Cast biconical whorl with a central moulded aperture of diameter 7.63mm. Moulded relief decoration on one side comprises faint lines forming rhomboid compartments. The other side bears similar faint decoration. A flat circumferential rim appears where the two halves meet. Patinated overall. Foreman (2018) has suggested the mass was intended to ply cord. He also suggests that deep nicks on one side, extending from the edge, might be tying notches. A lead spindle whorl dating from the Post-Medieval period (AD 1500 - 1600). Cast biconvex whorl with a central moulded aperture of diameter 11.06mm. Each side bears moulded decoration. One side has a slightly wandering circumferential rib at about the middle, and a series of 8 radial lines which pass from the rim of the central hole across the medial lines and joining an outer rim where the two halves meet.
