The item is a conical shape with a wide circular base. There is a vertical sub-circular hole in the centre of the item. The hole has a distorted edge which suggests the item has been hanging from a narrow thread. On the upper surface there are radiate lines as decoration.

The item is made from a stone which is either limestone or very similar. The stone has a grainy, easily worn texture. The colour of the stone is a dark brown/orange colour. The item is a flat circular disc with a central hole which has vertical sides and is 7.55mm diam. The two faces of the disc are parallel, however there are small indentations, particularly on one surface. It is difficult to determine whether these occurred in antiquity or recently. The edges of the item are rounded.

The spindle whorl is a bi-conical shape with a prounced ridge around the circumference of the whorl. The faces of the whorl also have high-relief ridges and pellets as decoration. The whorl has a central vertical hole which is circular in plan. The hole is 10mm in diameter. Some of the edges are slightly abraded which reveals a dark grey material which appears to corrode in layers. Otherwise the surface is a grey/cream colour.
