A cast lead, or lead alloy, flat circular spindle whorl of probable Roman dating (AD 1 - 1650). In plan the spindle whorl is circular. There is a circular perforation which measures 7.8 mm in diameter and is located in the centre of the whorl. Both faces of the object are flat and are un-decorated. The surfaces of the spindle whorl are a light cream colour. The object surfaces have been worn and slightly abraded.
