An incomplete lead spindle whorl. The whorl is discoidal in shape and D-shaped in cross section. The central hole is circular with an internal diameter of 9.24mm. Both faces bear the same decoration of four raised triangles with a raised pellet between each triangle. The lower face bears a fifth pellet in the centre of one triangle. The whorl has been damaged and one edge is missing.  The whorl is light-grey and pale brown in colour with a slightly uneven surface patina. A complete lead spindle whorl of Medieval date (AD 850-1200). The spindle whorl is discoidal in shape and sub-rectangular in cross section. The central hole is circular in shape and internal diameter of the hole is 8.9mm. No decoration is present on both surfaces. The whorl is a cream / grey colour, with an even surface patina. The whorl is decorated on both faces with a raised linear pattern radiating from the central aperture, though the surfaces are quite worn therefore making the exact pattern difficult to make out.
