A complete lead bi-convex decorated spindle whorl of Medieval to early post-Medieval date (AD 1100-1500). The spindle whorl is circular in shape, and lentoid in cross section. The central hole is sub-circular and the internal diameter measures 10.1mm. The upper and lower faces are decorated with irregular ribs in light relief, creating various sized segements. Within some of the segements are small moulded pellets.   The whorl is a cream colour, with a mottled surface patina.  Measurements: diameter 27.9mm, thickness 15.6mm, weight 39.2 g

A complete lead spindle whorl of Medieval date (AD 1100-1450). The spindle whorl is discoid in shape and sub-circular in plan. It fits into the Walton Rogers classification form B. The central hole is sub circular with an internal diameter of 10.4mm. The obverse is decoration with four raised ribs, parallel to each other, possibly representing segments or a cross. The reverse has no decoration present. A complete lead spindle whorl of Medieval date (AD 850-1200). The spindle whorl is discoid in shape and sub-circular in plan. It fits into the Walton Rogers classification form B. The central hole is circular in shape with an internal diameter of 7.4mm. No decoration is present on both surfaces. An incomplete lead or lead alloy convex spindle whorl or weight, of Roman to Post Medieval dating (AD 43 - AD 1650). The spindle whorl is sub circular, and triangular in cross section. The central hole is sub circular and has been cast slightly off central. The internal diameter of the hole measures 6.2 mm wide. The upper face is bevelled toward the outside edge and the lower face is flat. No traces of decoration are present on either the upper or lower faces.
