A complete lead or lead alloy spindle whorl of Roman to Post Medieval dating circa (AD 43 - AD 1650). The spindle whorl is sub circular in form with rounded curved edges. The central hole is sub circular in shape. The internal diameter of the hole measures 6.6 mm wide. Both upper and lower faces bear no trace of decoration. The object is roughly circular in plan and D-shaped in cross-section with a central moulded aperture of diameter 8.17mm. The object has a greyish-white patina.
