A medieval biconical lead spindle whorl, dating to c. AD 1200 - 1500. It is decorated on both faces with radiating lines and dots. The colour is a yellowy cream with a central aperture of 8.05 mm. Diameter 27.81 mm, thickness 12 mm and weight 39.08 g.

The object is circular and bi-convex with a sub-oval hole for suspension at both ends, around the holes the surface is flat. One surface is decorated with oblique lines radiating from the hole.  There is some damage on the decorated side and light scar marks on the other. A medieval lead spindle whorl. The whorl is biconical and has a central circular hole of 8mm diameter. Both sides are decorated with four moulded lines dividing each facing into quarters. In each quarter are three moulded pellets. The design possibly imitates the long cross and pellets seen on many silver coinage issues of the 13th and 14th centuries.
