A medieval lead spindle whorl. The whorl is biconical and has a central circular hole of 8mm diameter. Both sides are decorated with four moulded lines dividing each facing into quarters. In each quarter are three moulded pellets. The design possibly imitates the long cross and pellets seen on many silver coinage issues of the 13th and 14th centuries.

A medieval lead spindle whorl. The whorl has a very shallow plano-convex section and a central hole measuring 9mm diameter. The upper surface is decorated with repeated  punched circles. The lower surface is decorated with a circular groove within which is a band of vertically incised lines. This band forms approximately two thirds of the circle.

A lead alloy biconvex undecorated spindle whorl, of probably the Medieval period, dating from c. AD 1100 to AD 1450. The spindle whorl is sub circular in shape. Neither face seems to be decorated. The central hole is subcircular in shape, with signs of wear. It is roughly central and has an internal diameter of 10mm. A cast, lead alloy biconical spindle whorl with a central circular aperture (diameter 8.10 mm) of medieval date AD1300-1500.  It has a circumferential raised rib which is worn.  Both the upper and lower surfaces are decorated with a radial starburst design composed of triangles containing pellets and dots.  It has a light grey/light brown patina.   Thickness: 13.44 mm, Diameter: 28.48 mm, Weight: 42.65g.
