A plain lead-alloy spindle whorl of possible early medieval to medieval date, 700-1100AD. The spindle whorl is disc-shaped with a convex upper surface, curved sides and a flat lower surface. It has an even grey-white patina,and the central aperture measures 9mm, suggesting an early medieval date. It measures 32mm in diameter, is 7mm in width and weighs 39.63g.

Both faces are decorated, one is decorated with a repeating saltire design, each salitire is flanked by a vertical moulded line, in total the pattern is repeated five times.
