A Medieval to early Post-Medieval lead alloy spindle whorl, dating to c.AD 1200 - 1600. The spindle whorl is of Walton Rogers form A1. It is plano-convex, D shaped in cross-section with some minor wear on the edges and round the central hole. The domed side is decorated with an irregular pattern of moulded pellets and ridges. A complete but worn cast lead alloy spindle whorl, probably dating to the medieval period c. AD 1000 - 1500. It is bi- conical in cross-section with a thick median band.  Both faces are decorated, but the degree of wear makes it difficult to see the detail clearly.
