Cast lead-alloy ?spindle whorl. Irregular, sub-conical with uneven lower edge which folds under in places and has an irregular extension at the apex which partly obscures the circular perforation. The outer surface has moulded decoration which is difficult to interpret - there appears to be an 'N' and 'X' with other letters/symbols between. Surface damage and blundering during casting makes further deciphering of the surface decoration very difficult.
