An undatable (but probably medieval to post-medieval) lead spindle whorl or weight, hemi-spherical in shape with a central piercing. The piercing is narrower on the flat underside (7.87mm) and wider on the convex upper face (8.14mm). The surface is in a bad state of preservation and any decoration is now lost. The underside has a shallow groove encircling it. Measures 21.81mm in diameter, stands 9.17mm in height and weighs 20.29g.

A broken half of a Roman pottery spindle whorl or counter. It has a coarse, sandy fabric and a generally dark grey colour. It features incised concentric decoration - a median circle, a circle around the central hole (Dia.: c. 8.15mm), and a possible further circle towards the circumference. The artefact was reworked into its current fuction from a ceramic vessel. There is a circular indentation on the upper surface towards the break.
