A complete lead-alloy spindle whorl of medieval to post-medieval date, c.AD 1200 - 1800. The spindle whorl is bi-conical with a central perforation running through it. Both surfaces are decorated with a 'starburst' pattern of triangular lines radiating from the central perforation. Seven raised pellets are also present on each face. The metal has a light brown-white patina and is worn. Lead spindle whorls were commonly used from the Iron Age through to the post-medieval period and are difficult to date with any certainty. A Medieval lead alloy spindle whorl, dating AD1200-1500. The object is plano-convex with a central circular perforation, probably for suspension. There is a radiating design on the domed side, consisting of a series of lines running around the edge of the perforation and extending to the base of the object. It has a mid-light grey patina. Some similar examples have been recorded on the PAS database, cf. LANCUM-1B7F98. All tend to date from the 13th-15th century. Dimensions: diameter: 22.72 mm; height: 9.99 mm; weight: 20.42g.

At the centre, a vertical circular perforation has an internal diameter of approximately 10.3mm. Medieval or Post Medieval cast lead spindle whorl. It is circular in plan with a central circular perforation. It has a flat base and the upper surface is domed, giving it a trapezoid profile. There is a worn break along one side. The spingle whorl is 22.22mm in diameter, 5.22mm thick and weighs 6.99 grams.

Medieval cast lead alloy spindle whorl. The whorl is circular in plan, with an irregular circular perforation at the centre. It has a sub-triangular cross section. Both the upper and lower surface have moulded decoration. One face has a zig-zag design, with pellets in the gaps. The other face has five double arches, with two pellets in each towards the central perforation. It has a diameter of 30.59mm, the perforation has a diameter of 9.95mm. It is 9.98mm thick 10.01mm wide and weighs 44.88 grams. The surface is slightly worn and there is some damage.
