Spindle whorl made from chalk, 37 mm in diameter and 13 mm thick. It is a thick disc in shape, with both circular faces slightly convex and the sides gently rounded. The central perforation flares gently from 8 mm at one end to 10 mm at the other. All surfaces are covered with irregularly set concentric grooves, apart from a small area around each end of the perforation. The whorl weighs 21.5g. Whorls are very hard to date.
