Plano-convex object, perhaps a decorated spindle whorl. It is 22 mm in diameter and 11 mm tall, with a distinctly flat top. The central perforation flares very slightly from 6 mm wide at the top to 7 mm wide at the bottom, and is perhaps more sub-triangular than circular. Both the flat base and the convex upper surface are decorated with ring-and-dot motifs. Around the bottom of the convex face are blind-drilled holes the same size as the rings, and these alternate with nicks cut into the edge. A complete lead spindle whorl, flat and circular in shape, measuring 29.44mm in diameter and 9.71mm in thickness. It has a central circular perforation which measures 10.98mm in diameter. One side of this spindle whorl is slightly damaged. Lead spindle whorls are very difficult to date but this example is most likely to be medieval in date.

An incomplete probable Medieval copper-alloy spindle whorl dating to circa AD 1200-1400. It is comprised of a flat disc with rounded edges and central, circular aperture. One face is decorated with two concentic incised grooves. Longitudinal grooves are positioned between the circumferential grooves. The whorl is incomplete with evidence of an old worn break. Diameter: 32.2mm; Thickness: 5.1mm; Weight: 19.79g.

A probable Post Medieval copper-alloy spindle whorl dating to circa AD 1700-1800. Circular in plan with a flat apex and based, it has a drilled 9.8mm in diameter aperture in the centre. The piece is generally free of corrosion save for a small speck of copper-alloy disease.
