Irregular perforated weight or spindle-whorl made from chalk. Sub-rectangular with rounded corners when viewed either from the top or the side, it measures 27 x 34 mm and is 15 mm thick. It is either not particularly well made or has suffered some damage, as it has a rather lumpy outline. The circular perforation is a little off-centre and is symmetrically waisted, narrowing slightly to c. 10 mm minimum diameter. It is not possible to put a date on this object, but if this is a spindle whorl rather than a weight it could date to any time within the medieval period.

This is a simple cast lead weight, possibly for use as a spindle whorl. Its precise date range is uncertain and it may belong in any period from the Roman onwards, although a later Medieval to Post-Medieval date seems most plausible.
