Lead ?spindle whorl, circular with a central perforation. Flat and plano-convex, the rounded face is decorated with raised ribs, some of which radiate and others which might be pseudo-letters. The dating of these decorated whorls is difficult; suggestions have included Roman, late Anglo-Saxon and medieval, but the last seems most likely.
