A probable Post Medieval copper-alloy spindle whorl dating to circa AD 1700-1800. Circular in plan with a flat apex and based, it has a drilled 9.8mm in diameter aperture in the centre. The piece is generally free of corrosion save for a small speck of copper-alloy disease.

A complete lead medieval or post-medieval spindle whorl or weight. It has a flat base and convex upper surface, with a circular hole through the centre. It survives in fairly good condition with some deep scratches in places.
Most spindle whorls are Medieval or early Post-Medieval in date, although they were in use for a long period of time changing little in form.
