A complete cast lead or lead-alloy spindle whorl of probable medieval date (c.AD 1200-1500). Description: The object is circular in plan and biconical in profile with curved faces and a large central perforation. The central hole has a larger diameter at one end than the other. The edges of the hole are ragged and worn. Both faces are undecorated with a raised join where the two halves meet. The object has a mid-grey patina.
