Copper alloy buckle. Cast single looped or D-shaped buckle frame with a prominently projecting and grooved lip formed as a Borre style beast head on its outer edge, and with a narrowed and offset strap bar. Copper alloy buckle. Cast D-shaped or single looped buckle with an expanded bulbous outer edge on which pronounced radial ribs flank a broad and bordered pin rest, these details appearing on the display side only, and with devolved beast heads gripping the ends of the strap bar. Dave Haldenby kindly considers the beast heads to be more realistically modelled than on other examples in the group and the outer edge to be less expanded - perhaps in its relative thickness [MF].
