An incomplete Roman copper-alloy continental plate brooch, dating to c.AD 80 BC - 250. The brooch appears to have originally been trefoil shaped in plan, one of the lobes is missing. Each lobe is decorated with a convex circular boss. At the top of the brooch is a drop shaped protrusion which to the rear houses the lug to support the now missing pin. There is a constriction for the pin at one of the narrow ends and opposite this an externally-projecting approximately trefoil or T-shaped knop. An incomplete Roman copper-alloy lozenge-shaped continental series plate brooch dating to c. AD100-250. Around half of the piece is extant. Lozengiform in in plan with straight edges it has double lobed terminal. The lobes are inlaid with blue enamel on the front face.
