A fragment of box flue of Roman date. It has a hard red/pink fabric, is rectangular in section and roughly rectangular in form, terminating on three sides in old breaks. One face of the fragment has moulded or impressed decoration comprising two decorative bands with herringbone pattern separated by a single central groove. All surfaces have traces of white mortar suggesting its usage, or re-use, in building construction. It measures 88.29mm in length, 63.80mm in width, 16.63mm in thickness and 124.11g in weight. This is a fragment of Roman box flue, c.43-410 AD.

Six fragment from tiles of Roman date. They have a combined total weight of 234.52g and date to between c,43-410 AD. 1) A sherd from the flange of a Roman tegula measuring 51.31mm in length, 33.50mm in width, 31.42mm in thickness and 63.62g in weight. 2) Five sherds from box flue of Roman date, all with combed decoration on one surface. They have a combined total weight of 170.90g.

An assemblage of ceramic vessel sherds, and building material, typical of a late Roman low status settlement or farmstead somewhere in the region of the find spot. A small assemblage of pottery dating to both the Roman and the early Medieval periods. The Roman material dates from the 2nd to 4th centuries AD. Both fine and coarse wares are represented, as well as mortaria and large storage vessels. The early Medieval material probably dates to the late 10th or 11th centuries AD and comprises small sherds of cooking vessels. One piece of a box flue tile, with combed bands along the edges of the surviuving face plus a diagonal band. The fabric has some white ?chalk inclusions as well as mixed quartz sand and occasional large flint fragments. Surviving 90 by 70mm, 24mm thick.
