Iron Stirrup. A D-shaped frame and the stub of an apparently hollow loop for attachment of leathers; the stirrup sides are of rectangular section, whilst the stub attachment is circular in section. Modern (19th-20th century) cast copper alloy stirrup. The foot rest is an open work oval. The curved outer edges have a series of transverse grooves for grip, while the two inner bars are straight with no additional grip and these two bars show sighs of wear. The frame is sub-rectangular. The outer edge of the frame has incised decoration in the form of oak leaves and acorns. The rectangular suspension loop is boxed by by a sub-rectangular mount.
