A Medieval - Post Medieval crudely cast, lead alloy large sized, uniface token of Powell type 3 The token is roughly circular in plan, sub-rectangular in cross section with a raised design of a 8 spokes extending from the centre of the token. There are two concentric raised borders also, one at the edge of the token and another about half way along its diameter. The reverse is flat and plain. The token is a medium grey colour. The token is 16.7mm in diameter, 1.8mm thick and weighs 3.52 grams. A Medieval incomplete fragment of a lead-alloy circular seal matrix dating to c.1200-1400. Approximately half of the circular, flat seal remains. The central motif appears to be a petalled cross, with a circular scribed line separating the totally illegible inscription. The reverse is plain with the remains of a transverse raised fillet. Diameter 29.9mm, thickness 5.5mm, weight 10.3g. Similar examples on this database at KENT-374D77, PUBLIC-47ADB9 and KENT-9C13E2.

The reverse is blank. It is 15.49 mm in diameter, 2.30 mm thick and weighs 3.5 grams. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally, they are therefore hard to date precisely and this example could date from the Medieval or Post Medieval periods, c.1250-1800 AD.
