A complete cast copper-alloy and iron lock cover of possible medieval date (c.1100-1500). Description: The object consists of a lozenge shaped plate with a circular end, the back of which is the source of contiguous iron corrosion, probably due to the iron attachment which fixed to the door and which allowed the plate to rotate. The upper surface of the plate appears to be undecorated. A complete Post Medieval cast copper-alloy casket key dating c. AD 1500-1700. The bow is kidney-shape with bevelled inside edges and two internal projections. At the base of the projections on the opposite side of the bow bar extends a circular-sectioned stem with a single collar followed by a triple collar. An incomplete, copper alloy Roman (AD 43-410) bell-shaped stud (possibly Allason-Jones type 2) or lock element. The outer, concave face of the stud is a circular head (31.42mm diameter) which has a raised, truncated central conical projection within a flairing, circumferential rim on the outer face. An incomplete, copper alloy, Medieval (AD 1100-1600) zoomorphic barrel padlock. The padlock is in the form of a horse wearing a saddle and harness. The horse is hollow throughout. The head of the horse is cylindrical and tapers towards the mouth, where there is a breakage. The eyes are possibly annulets, though, due to abrasion, the details are not clear. The object has a green coloured worn patina.  Similar examples were recovered from excavations in London which dated from between 1150 and 1400 (Egan 1998, 111-112, nos 294-298).
