A complete cast copper-alloy button, dating to the Medieval to Post-medieval period, about AD 1400 - 1600. The button has a circular head with a domed top with a prominent front decoration comprising of a stylised flower motif with eight petals radiating from a central point. The reverse of the head is flat and from it projects an integral, bent oval loop. The loop is flat with a small circular hole through it.

A copper alloy button of early modern date (c.AD 1750-1800). The button is octagonal in plan with rounded corners and a tapered edge. The face has an incised motif consisting of a central pellet surrounded by a raised ring from which a sunburst pattern emits. At the outer edge of the button there are incised concave lines corresponding with the edges of the octagon, which have incised transverse lines pointing to the centre of the button. The reverse is slightly concave and is undecorated, any signs of a loop attachment have been lost.

Complete lead button dating to the 17th or early 18th century (c. 1600-1730AD). The discoidal button is solid with a flat front and back. The button has been mould decorated with a 12 spoke wheel with a pellet at the centre. On the reverse there is the remains of an integral loop and clear casting seam.

An incomplete, lead alloy button of late Medieval to early Post Medieval date (c. AD 1400-1600).
The button is sub-circular in plan and plano-convex in profile, with a largely flat reverse and a domed front. There is a design in the centre on the front that cosists of five pellets that make a four petalled flower, and from this central flower there are radiating ribs that lead to the edge of the button. An incomplete post Medieval lead-tin alloy cast discoidal button. The edge is chipped and the looped shank is missing to an old break.
The surviving piece is broadly circular in plan and slightly domed in cross section with a convex front and flat reverse. The front has a raised design depicting a six petalled (pointed oval leaves) flower with a line of three pellets between each leaf. This is surrounded by a raised border. Post Medieval (c. AD 1700-1800) incomplete cast lead alloy button: The button is slightly domed in cross section and circular in plan with decoration on the domed face. The decoration is a large central pellet with eight smaller pellets around it. The reverse face has a small groove traversing the base with an irregular indentation in the centre. This is where the separate loop was attached and is now missing. The surface of the button is a light grey colour. It measures 27.18mm diameter, 7.94mm thick and weighs 18.85g.

A complete copper-alloy button and loop fastener of Wild (1970) Class III, dating to the early Roman period (AD 50 - AD 200).
The head of the fastener is circular in shape with a central circular boss within a deep circumferential recess. The shank protrudes from the reverse of the head, and bends at 90 degrees before forming a tear shaped attachment loop. The reverse is flat and undecorated.

A medieval to post medieval button, dating from c.15-17th Century AD. The head of the button is discoidal, it is worn but it is decorated with a central impressed pellet, surrounded by 7 more pellets. There is an incised border running around the edge. There is no decoration on the reverse. In the centre there is a rectangular shank with a circular perforation. One edge of this has been worn and has broken. It has a dark green patina, and measures 14.9mm in diameter across the head, 8.4mm in width across the head and shank, and weighs 2.35g.

A worn and incomplete Post-Medieval (17th century) cast one-piece circular copper-alloy button, 23.4mm in diameter. The button is decorated with an engraved eight arm spiral, with annulets at the ends of alternate arms and a small dot-in-annulet at the centre. There is a linear border around the rim. An early post-medieval, cast copper alloy dress fastener, the hook for a hook and eye catch, dating from AD 1600-1700. It is sub-oval in plan with a rectangular projection at one end, separated from the remainder of the fastener by a shallow ridge, bent forwards to form a blunt fastening hook. There are three perforated attachment knops, one at the end opposite the hook, and one on either side. All are incomplete.
