An incomplete copper-alloy button of Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1600 - 1750. The button is discoidal and flat. The upper surface is decorated with a central ring and dot design from which four equidistant arms comprised of zig-zags extend. The space between the arms has leaf motifs formed of incised lines. The reverse displays a scar from an integral shanks which is lost to a worn break. The metal has a dark green/grey patina and is worn. The button is 16.7mm in diameter, 2.7mm thick and weighs 2.8g. The front is decorated with irregularly spaced grooves radiating from the pellet to the edge. The button is circular with a concave reverse and slight dome to the obverse with damage around the circumference of the button. The button appears to be undecorated, however it may simply be too worn for any detail of inscription or design to remain. At the centre of the reverse the remains of an attachment shank can be seen. Copper alloy unidentified object fragment. Cast sub-trapezoid plate with three slightly concave sides and a button stud projecting from the centre of its plain back. The display side retains a double linear border which has trapped relicts of presumably formerly more extensive gilding. The finder suggests this might be a fragment of an 8th-century chip carved pin and posits a possible reuse as Viking or Anglo-Scandinavian ‘hack’ – a fragment intended for reuse. A copper alloy, white metal coated circular mount of Post Medieval to modern date, about AD 1600 - 1900.  It could also be a button. It has a domed centre surrounded by a flat flange. The flange is decorated with radiating grooves, which is possibly lettering, around three quarters of the edge. Both faces of the mount or button have a thick white metal coating. In the centre of the reverse are the remains of an iron shank. This passes through the dome and is also visible on the front at the apex. The object is 22.7mm in diameter, 6.2mm thick and weighs 6.59g.
