A complete cast copper-alloy medieval buckle dating to 13th-14th century AD. Cassels buckle type 1.3J. Meols Type 10. The buckle is oval and convex with two rounded outward-angled projections on the outside edge. Between the two knops the outside edge has moulded decoration of four raised circumferential bands spaced equally. The frame has an offset bar and at both ends of the bar is a globular projection. The buckle is oval shaped with a narrowed off set strap bar. The strap bar has small knops at either end. The outer edge of the buckle is broad and curved.
