An incomplete Roman Colchester derivative brooch of Polden Hill (Mackreth Group 4, flat wing ends type), dating to AD 80-120.
The brooch is T-shaped in plan. The wings are semi circular with missing end caps. The foot and catch plate are missing along with the spring and pin.

An incomplete Roman copper-alloy bow brooch of Colchester derivative type, dating to circa AD 43-120.
The brooch is broadly T-shaped with flattened wings. It is uncertain if the brooch would have had a spring or if it was a hinged variety. The bow is broadly traingular in form and is flattened at the top in profile as opposed to the Polden Hill types that are more hump like. An incomplete cast copper alloy trumpet brooch, of Roman date circa AD 75 to 175.
The remains of the brooch consist of the head and bow and the pierced lug at the rear of the head. The foot, catch plate, spring mechanism and the pin are missing. The brooch is broadly an inverted 'L' shape in profile and the bow tapers from a flared head to a broken terminal below the central moulding. The head is oval in form. An incomplete copper alloy Colchester derivative brooch of Roman date (AD 43-200).
Only the head and upper bow remains. The wings, spring, pin, majority of the bow, foot and catch plate are missing. The bow head is slightly angular (comma shaped). Only a short section of the upper bow remains. Located at the reverse of the head is a broadly square shaped concave recess where the spring would have been held in place. A near complete late Iron Age/Early Roman copper-alloy crescent type "Aesica" brooch of first century AD date, possibly dating to circa AD 25-100.
The brooch comprises an upper curved bow and a lower flat bow. The spring mechanism is similar to the Polden Hill brooches (Aesica, type 3) in that the springs are contained within cylindrical wings which are pierced by a central axis bar. The wing caps are still intact.

A Roman copper alloy 'bow and fantail' bow brooch, dating to circa AD 50-150.
The brooch is broadly T-shaped in plan with curved broadly 'C' shaped in prodile wings. The head is angular, and the brooch is an inverted 'L' shape in profile. The wings are broadly intact, however the spring and coils at the reverse of the head are now missing.

An incomplete Roman copper alloy plate brooch dating to circa AD 150-350. The brooch consists of a flat oval plate with an oval reserve at the centre and broad outer border. The oval recess is empty and has a slightly raised broad surround. The front of the brooch may have once held enamel as seen on other examples.

Roman (AD c. 50-400) Initial T-shaped brooch (Mackreth 2011, Chap 3, Part 4, The Hinged Pin, Type 5k Plate 58); The copper-alloy brooch has a cylindrical crossbar which has a central slot on the reverse to allow the pin to be hinged. The axis bar is within the wings and has a fragment of the pin hinged to the axis bar. The wings are undecorated. The bow is hump-like and undecorated. The bow tapers towards a broken edge towards the foot and is a slender pointed oval in section. There is no trace of a catchplate.
It measures 26.36mm long, 15.13mm wide and it weighs 4g.

Roman, copper alloy brooch of 'Polden Hill' type, first century AD. Traces of silvering on surfaces, bow truncated but bore two longitudianal grooves. The underside of the wings is hollow to accomodate a coiled spring secured by an axial pin held in perforated plates at the ends of the wings. Each of the wings bears two transverse mouldings flanked by narrow grooves and a deeper, wide groove. The mouldings bear incised, transverse lines. Length 16.0mm, Width 23.8mm, Height 8.0mm, Mass 3.79g.

Roman, copper alloy brooch of 'head stud' type, second century AD. Corrosion makes description of the bow difficult but it appears to consist of a longitudinal rib flanked by two rows of pellets. A possible knop from a cast copper-alloy developed crossbow brooch, dating to the Roman period circa AD 320-400.The fragment is biconical in form and circular in cross section. The object has a pointed projection extending vertically from the upper edge. The object has a mid-green coloured well-developed patina. It is also possible that this object is a pinhead from a hair pin, although the pin heads illustrated by Cool (1990) are predominately less than 10mm in width.
