A medieval to post-Medieval Spanish silver half real of Ferdinand and Isabella (AD 1479-1504). Minted between AD 1475-1497. Mint uncertain. The coin is bent across the middle and is irregular in shape, and clipped on some edges. Obverse: Yoke of Aragon Reverse: The Queens device, a "bundle of arrows". Medieval to Post Medieval (15th to 16th centuries) coin weight: The copper alloy weight is circular in plan and rectangular in section with rounded corners. The weight is uniface, decorated with a ship with a lis to the left of the mast and a lion to the right. The weight has a dark green patina. It measures 16.33mm diameter, 4mm thick and weighs 4.92g. The use of round weights with representations of a ship were used in the 15th and 16th centuries (Withers P. & B.R. Lions, Ships and Angels Galata Print. Powys p. 19).
