A copper alloy Medieval or early Post Medieval (14th to 18th century) circular fitting or suspension loop. These objects are suggested as multipurpose and may have been used as curtain ring or belt or clothing hangers. The ring is flat on both outer surfaces. The object has a well-developed dark green to brown coloured patina. Similar rings are illustrated in Margeson (1993) Nos. 522-524, and she describes them as being suspension rings which were probably multi-functional, including curtain rings. Cast copper-alloy sub-circular ring, 25.31 x 24.86mm in diameter. Trapezoidal in cross-section, 2.01mm thick. One area is very worn, and is therefore more narrow. Rings such as these had many possible functions and they seem to be of medieval or post-medieval date, c. 1100-1800 AD.

Cast copper-alloy sub-circular ring, approximately 34mm in diameter and 2.24mm thick, with an elongated hexagonal cross-section. File marks are visible on all surfaces. The width of one area is narrower than the rest due to wear. Rings such as these had many possible functions, and they seem to be of medieval or post-medieval date; the filemarks on this example suggest a medieval date.
