A contemporary forgery of a silver struck/ hammered Commonwealth halfgroat, dating between 1649-1660 AD. The coin is poorly engraved and struck with a crudely cut die. Additionally, the two slightly interlocking shields of St. George and the Irish harp on the coin's reverse are the wrong way round.
