A complete silver sceatta of uncertain ruler, but of the London inscribed series, dating to around c. AD 710 to AD 750, as part of the Secondary phase. The obverse depicts a diademed bust on the left with cross on the right. The reverse depicts a Man standing on a segment of a circle holding a cross in the left, and a bird in the right. C.f. North vol 1, p 62, no 72. BMC 18 Series L.  Diameter: 12.0 mm Thickness: 1.7 mm Weight: 0.8 g

An early-medieval silver penny of Coenwulf of Mercia (796-821), minted by Wihtred in an East Anglian mint, probably Ipswich (North 372; Cn 109; Naismith E12.7). Ref: North 1994: 95; Naismith 2011. The edges are crumpled, folded and incomplete. The reverse design is most similar to Naismith 12.7d with annulets instead of pellets within the cental box.
