An early Post-Medieval (c. 1400 - c. 1700) copper alloy book-clasp: The body of the book clasp is a long, slender rectangle, which flares at one temrinal. At the opposite terminal there is an off-set rectangular protrusion at one edge, whose edge is curled downwards forming the clasp element. There is an incomplete rivet hole at the flared terminsl. The clasp is decorated with a three transverse ridges with a detailed motif inbetween. T The surface of the clasp has a mottled matte brown patina.
