A bone incomplete whistle of uncertain date. This musical instrument has been made from a long bone that is shaped to have a rectangular cross-section with chamfered corners. At one end the lower edge is cut diagonally creating the mouth piece and there is a D-shaped blow-hole just above. The whistle is broken across the opposite end, there is a surviving double band of circumferential grooves just before the broken edge. A post medieval lead alloy incomplete boatswain's (bosun) whistle, dating to the 17th century. The gun and keel of the whistle remain, the gun being cylindrical and tapering towards the buoy, it is now flattened. The gun is decorated with a cast geometric pattern, near the mouthpiece ring and dot motifs are arranged in a cross pattern and then there a rows of pellets and lines with transverse lines forming borders between the different patterns. The spherical bouy remains, although slightly dented and is made up of two hemi-spheres separated by a central raised rib, part of which is missing. Handmade bone toy whistle and teething toy of 17th or 18th century date. The whistle is sub-cylindrical, piriform in cross section with a semi-circular front and a back which comes to a distinct point with a ridge running down the length. The toy commences in an old break and is cylindrical with a hollow circular cross sectioned interior and a hexagonal external cross-section. The internal diameter of the toy is 9.07mm tapering to 3.88mm at the opposite end. An incomplete lead-tin or pewter alloy hunting whistle dating to the 18th - 19th century. The terminal of the whistle is in the form of an animal, probably a fox's head. The fox has a long oval snout beneath which is a linear mouth. Either side of the snout are lentoid eyes above which are pronounced and ridged eyebrows. A silver object, originally described as a bell, now badly crushed. The object is made of two hemispheres soldered with a lip going around circumference. There is a large hole on the circumference. Soldered adjacent to the hole is a separate loop of silver wire, now broken. Each end of the object is decorated with an openwork sexfoil with a raised central pellet, possibly representing a flower. An incomplete post medieval lead alloy whistle dating from AD 1700 - 1900. The whistle is cylindrical with a half cylindrical mouthpiece. Only the mouthpiece end of the whistle survives. There is a crescent-shaped sound hole at the point where the mouthpiece narrows. The cylindrical part of the tube is decorated with an abstract curvilinear design in relief lines. There are obvious casting seams along the sides of the tube. The rest of the whistle is missing so it is not known what form it took.
