A cast gilded silver terminal in the shape of an animal's head. Extensive gilding survives across much of the surface. The beast's head is elongated and its snout curves downwards and back upwards underneath. Subtle moulding represents the end of the upper and lower jaws, from which protrudes a long tongue. This widens as it extends to touch the underside of the beast's head, closing the loop and forming a circular aperture 3.90mm in diameter. Silver drinking horn terminal dating from the early medieval late Saxon period 10th to 11th century AD. Surface metal analysis conducted by the British Museum's Department of Conservation and Scientific Research indicated an approximate silver content for the terminal of 92-94%, the remainder being copper, gold and lead, and for a surviving rivet of 98.5 - 99.5% silver, the remainder being copper and lead. A silver Roman Republican denarius in excellent condition. Dated to 207 BC, this coin is the earliest single find of a denarius recorded with the Portable Antiquities Scheme to date. Obverse depicts the Head of Roma and the reverse depicts the galloping Dioscuri and crescent. Mint of Rome RRC 57/2.

An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman cart fitting terminal in the form of an eagle's head, dating from AD 43 - 125 (length: 20mm; width: 22.5mm; thickness of metal: 2mm; weight: 14.83g). The eagle's head is hollow and has been broken in antiquity immediately below the bird's beak. The head comprises of a protruding platform/ crest at the top of the head, which extends outwards and overhangs above the incised eyes. A Roman copper alloy miniature votive axe (AD43-410). The axe-head is trapezoidal in plan, tapering in width from the cutting edge to the butt; the upper edge is curved. The handle is oval in section 24.64mm long. The object has been cast in one piece and designed to appear as if the handle passes through the socketed axe-head. The axe is undecorated. A Roman copper alloy miniature votive axe (AD43-410). The axe-head is wedge-shaped, with the butt of the axe head rectangular in section and 5.27mm thick, decreasing to 1.05mm at the blade. In profile it increases in width from 7.48mm at the butt, to 11.91mm. The handle, which is rounded in section, is 37.44mm long and has been cast to appear to pass through the axe head. An early Anglo-Saxon copper-alloy openwork terminal. The terminal has a rounded end that tapers towards the bottom (from 9.37mm to 5.61mm). The flat lower edge has an apparently unworn break with the same dark green patina as the surface. Within the terminal is an openwork motif of a stylised human figure gripping two upright rods which may be spears, staves or lurs (long trumpets). An Anglo-Saxon zoomorphic terminal made of silver and partly gilded The terminal is hollow-cast, with a pyramidal socket of rectangular section which would perhaps originally have held a wooden rod. On the narrower sides are two 4mm-long tapering extensions, which could have accommodated ridges on the rod. These are also zoomorphic, and although worn, the shape of the muzzles, the eyes and upright ears can still be made out. A copper alloy ring-headed pin (early - middle Iron Age). The pin has a tapering shank with a circular section; it is broken across the shank and the pointed end is missing. The shank curves intentionally below the head. The pin has an even dark-green patina. Similar to no. 266 but without the decorative head swelling.(MacGregor 1976).

A copper alloy pin with the head in the form of a human head and upper torso. The face has somewhat triangular eyes, a straight nose and a simple line for the mouth. The hairstyle consists of a finely incised plait which encircles the head. From the back of the head protrudes a curved crest with a plait along it and a circular hole through it. A line runs around the neck and one wrist of the figure, possibly signifying jewellery.
