Six sherds of samian ware pottery of early Roman date. Three are body sherds and three are rim sherds. Two of the rim sherds have external beads and one is plain. All the sherds are oxidised throughout with shiny brownish-orange slips. The fabric contains moderate very small limestone pieces and occasional voids, so the vessels were probably produced at one of the South Gaulish kilns. Total weight: 44g

Roman 'cable style' bracelet formed of two strands of wire twisted around each other in a spiral. About a third of the bracelet including one terminal remains. It is D shaped in section as the inner side has been slightly flattened after the two wires were twisted together. One wire stops short of the terminal and the plain end is soldered to the longer wire. The longer wire thins and is bent over to form a hook. At the other end the wires have broken at different points with one projecting further, this longer wire has been slightly straightened and bent out of line. The wires have c…

Roman cast copper alloy T-shaped brooch dating to the late first to early second century AD. The head has two cylindrical wings to hold the probably copper alloy axis bar for the hinged pin which would have moved in the slot on the underside of the head. There is no evidence for a tab or loop at the head. The bow has a D shaped cross section with a flat back. It projects at 90 degrees from th…

The head is a fan (D shaped) plate with a concave back and convex front with a slight carination running vertically down the centre. The lower corners are damaged. The triangular head of the pin remains in the slot with a short stub of the pin. There is damage to one end of the cylinder but it is otherwise complete; it appears to be filled with a whi…
