A fragment of decorative ceramic floor tile dating to the medieval period, c. AD 1200-1450. The tile fragment is bi-chrome and inlaid with a white clay depicting the edge of a design that possibly features an animal (a leg and tail survive), surrounded by a plain double line border with a thicker line at the bottom. There is one bevelled edge (the other edges are broken).  Length (unbroken edge): 69.77mm, width: 61.29mm, thickness: 23.41mm, weight: 107.59g.

An incomplete copper alloy post-medieval dress hook or fastener, c. AD 1500-1700. The hook is trefoil with a central perforation, through which a spherical attachment knop protrudes. The face of the hook plate is decorated with hollow circular bosses topped with six pellets in a flower arrangement (five around the edge and one in the centre). Two of these bosses are missing, one remains. On the back of the hook plate the attachment shank connects to a sharply curved hook. The fitting is pentagonal with one long edge, two short sides, and two short edges meeting in a point opposite the long side. From the point, the fitting flares out in two attachment lugs, both broken. An incomplete copper alloy Roman brooch, c. AD 50-150. The brooch comprises a strip bow which originally had a hinged pin (now missing). The bow of the brooch is decorated with three grooves: the outer two made up of very small lateral nicks, and the central one a deep incision. Post Medieval copper alloy mount probably dating to the 17th century. The front is a flat plate with a trilobed end. The mount then widens giving an almost triangular main plate and terminates in another trilobed shape with the rounded corners of the triangle flanking a lobed projection. The back is flat with two projecting integral pointed lugs which are bent. The front of the plate is worn and pitted with a probably deliberate groove running down the centre form the wider end. Roman ceramic rim sherd from Black Burnished ware (BB1, from Wareham/Poole Harbour, Dorset) vessels, dating c. AD 43-410. Hard fired, with dark grey-black colour and occasional brown oxidised patches. Common sub-rounded to sub-angular translucent and white quartz inclusions, <3mm. The rim is angled outwards with an expanded flattened top edge, possibly from a jar, but it is too small to estimate diameter or form. The breaks are only slightly abraded and it weighs 7.82g.

Rim sherd of a Medieval cooking pot, c.13th - 15th century. Everted concave rim with an expanded outer edge which creates a flat lip on the upper face of the rim and a broader D-shaped expansion on the lower face. Buff fabric with abundent small sand temper and occasional larger quartz up to 1mm. Sooting on both faces. It has very abraded breaks and weighs 17.11 grams. It is too small to estimate the original diameter.

Medieval cast copper alloy sub-oval pendant loop. The artefact is made up of a flat circular loop; at one end of which is a collared projecting acorn terminal knop of width 4.4mm. On the opposite side there is a rectangular bar with a flat, filed, top edge. The sides are rectangular in section and thin towards the rectangular bar. The metal is pitted and it is a mid greyish-brown colour. The object survives to a length of 15.7mm, 11.4mm wide, 2.9mm thick and weighs 0.99 grams. A Medieval copper alloy buckle dating to cAD1350-1400. The single loop frame is slightly trapezoidal with a transverse groove at either end of the front edge. The strap bar is narrowed and offset and the pin is missing. The buckle has green patina. It measures 14.91mm in thickness, 14.48mm in width, 2.88mm in thickness and weighs 1.37g. Similar examples can be found in Egan & Pritchard (1991:96) no. 435 and Whitehead (2003:27) no. 136. Many of the buckles in this group would originally have been fitted with buckle plates.
