A glass Roman gaming counter dating to the period c. AD 43 - 410. The counter is oval in shape and convex. The reverse is slightly dished. The counter is a very dark opaque blue/black colour. The underside of the gaming counter exhibits a number of air holes from the manufacture process.
Similar pieces have been found at Silchester, and Colchester and are discussed in Crummy, N, 1983, Colchester Archaeological Report 2, p.92 - 93, fig. 95.
