Copper alloy brooch. Cast Colchester derivative brooch, probably a rearhook spring fastened type, Mackreth type CD RH 1.i. Semi-circular concavo-convex wings retain a white blob of fixative for attachment of a spring [lost]; their irregular surfaces suggest overall moulding. The bow is of rounded section with a broad front and borders to either side. The stub of a catch plate remains behind the lower bow. Fiercely abraded. An incomplete cast copper alloy derivative three-link bridle bit, dating to the late Iron Age or early Roman period (c.200BC-200AD) The bit is comprised of two loops (broken) on either side of a bar. Towards the middle of the bar, but slightly off-centre, is a large moulded collar which measures 21.3mm in diameter. To either side of the collar is a raised circumferential line.
