An incomplete misshapen cast copper alloy and gilded finger ring of probable Post-Medieval date (AD 1500 – AD 1800). Length: 16.3mm; width: 7.9mm and 3.9nmm thick. Weight: 2.24g.
About half of the hoop is missing due to two old breaks.
The ring has a slightly raised circular bezel which is decorated with a saltire cross which has probably been formed by punching. The outer face of the hoop was also decorated, although the design is largely indeterminate. However, it may have consisted of alternating lozenge and floral motifs.
