The object is comprised of the head, bow and foot; the pin, and catchplate are missing. The head of the brooch has the typical oval shape of the trumpet brooch that splays quite widely at the end. TREASURE CASE 2013 T161: Incomplete silver gilt Roman Trumpet brooch. Only the head, neck and central part of the bow survive. The head, which is slightly twisted and damaged along the margins, is the classic trumpet shape with a hollowed reverse.
