A copper alloy piece, which may be part of a statue. The piece is wide at one end, thinning toward the other end and then widening again, in two stages, giving the appearance of two odd-sized cones joined by a narrow neck.. It is not symmetrical in any plane, there is a small 'lump' at the end of the long section. The cross section is sub-circular. It resembles an arm, or perhaps the hooved leg of a horse, and could perhaps be part of a statue, although from what period it is not possible to say. It is heavily encrusted. Dimensions: Length 27mm, approx…

A cast lead tip fragment possibly of a spear of an unknown date. The fragment tapers to a point and is lozenge-shaped in cross-section with two longitudinal ridges along opposite sides. It has a white patina. It might be broken from a post-medieval toy or from a Roman statuette e.g. Mars (See NMS-1CFD67) or Cupid (See KENT-223C9B). Length: 15.1mm, width: 6.1mm, weight: 1.22g

A copper alloy unidentified object of uncertain date and function, probably AD 43 - 1800. In plan, it consists of a semicircular solid plate with the straight edge being wavy, with two concave area and rounded lobes between. Lead and iron unidentified object. A fragment of lead, probably melted or partly melted, which is trapped in or associated with a possibly sub-triangular or oval iron loop, now heavily corroded. The grey tint of the non-ferrous metal may suggest a relatively recent date. This may simply be an object reduced to its currently mysterious state by incorporation in a bonfire. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1700-1900 Length: 37.0mm, Width: 24.8mm, Thickness: 9.5mm, Weight: 10.84gms

An incomplete copper alloy object of uncertain function, probably dating from the medieval to the post-medieval period. The object is sub-circular in plan with a wide rearward projecting hook at one end. At the opposite straight edged end of the object are two rounded projections which curve inwards and may have joined. The majority of the surface decoration has been obscured with corrosion however where the corrosion hasn't taken hold gilding is visible on each face. An unidentifed copper-alloy object of probable early Iron Age or perhaps late Bronze Age date and of uncertain original extent. The object comprises a short arc which merges into a straight section, with a swelling where the two lengths join. The lower side of the swelling and the two present terminals all have pronounced hollows each of which is orientated along the length of the object. Both terminals expand. The curving length appears plain but is corroded and is possibly decorated with a line of dots. The straight length is decorated on three sides with a band of repeating punched…

A complete circular, probably wrought iron disk, of uncertain dating, but probably Post Medieval to Modern (AD 1700 to AD 1900). The iron disk is circular in plan, and rectangular in section. No decoration is present on either surface. It has a diameter of 21.10 mm and is 4.26 mm thick. It weighs 3.4 g. Both surfaces of the disk are covered with a layer of a corrosion product (iron oxide commonly known as rust). Due to the corrosion product, it is hard to determine what the original function of this artefact was. It was possibly a coin or token but other identifications and func…
