Cast copper alloy hooked mount, probably from a sword belt, ovoid in plan and slightly domed in profile, with a trefoil terminal at one end and a circular hook at the opposite end. The upper face of the mount is engraved with a design of curved feathers and punched with ring and dot motifs. The attachment knop is ovoid with a circular terminal. Cast copper sword belt hook, circular in plan and semi-circular in profile, with a convex upper surface and a concave underside, and a circular knop at one terminal and a hook at the other. Between the hook and the body of the fitting, there are two transverse ridges on the front and a copper alloy rivet intact on the back. Between the body of the fitting and the circular knop, there is more of a defined groove before a singular ridge, but there is iron corrosion product covering potentially another ridge, which suggests that the intact rivet in the centre of the knop is made of iron.…

Cast copper alloy sword belt fitting or hooked mount with a separate pendent trefoil eye that would have sat centrally on a belt so that other hooked mounts, fixed to leather straps, could attach to the other two loops, in order to suspend the sword scabbard. The mount has a flat oval plate that is decorated with an incised voided curved-armed cross, forming a lozenge-shape, around a central fleur made up of one incised annulet surrounded by eight semi-circular arcs which form the edges of the petals. The flower is backed by parallel oblique lines within the arms of the cross, and bey…
