A complete, Roman, struck or hammered, copper alloy, sestertius. The coin is a rounded square shape but is impossible to identify due to the poor, extremely worn condition and very corroded and encrusted surface. There are a few green verdigris outgrowths or spots and a pale grey chalky like encrusted surface with small charcoal particles on both sides which could be a sign of having been burnt. This coin is likely to date to 43-250AD. Ref. Coins of England and the UK, Spink 2011, page 50-57. The coin is 29.69mm long, 26.8mm wide, 6.34mm thick, diameter 29.69mm and weighs 18.1g.
