An incomplete Bronze Age flint barbed and tanged arrowhead, dating to 2500-1500 BC. The arrowhead is made from a tertiary flake of pale brown flint with a low gloss patina. A barbed and tanged arrowhead, formed by knapping. It is made of a pale semi- transluscent flint with some inclusions. It is slightly flatter on one side then the other, and the tip of one of the barbs is missing. Having been found near a beach it has been worn so no sharp edge remains, but the shape is consistent. Arrowheads such as these, see also NMGW-24C12C, are classified as Sutton Type B (Green 1980) are commonly associated with the emergence of the Beaker phenomenon in Britain. The object is triangular in plan with two notches in the base between the central tang and a barb to either side. Tertairy ?soft hammer struck flake with the bulb of percussion removed and neatly trimmed to a triangular shape by direct, steep percussion predominantly to the dorsal face, of slightly mottled dark grey flint with no patination. Fragment of a copper alloy axe, probably a palstave, of bronze age date c1400-950BC.  Only the cutting blade end survives, therefore its original form is uncertain and the possibility that it is a flat axehead or a short flanged axehead cannot entirely be ruled out.
